YEREVAN. – Armenia has been left out of the South Caucasus energy projects; this brings forth a feeling of insecurity, and this is what breaks the stability.

King’s College London (UK) analyst Tracey German on Saturday stated the aforesaid at the 89th Rose-Roth seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and which is held in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

In her words, energy security is directly linked to state security, and it is very important to diversify energy sources.

The analyst noted that the South Caucasus is one of the world’s largest markets of natural gas, and the European Union has overestimated its energy and foreign policies.

In her view, the energy concern is due to the fact that many hopes were pinned on Russia. But it is important that the natural gas pipelines connect the South Caucasus with Europe. In addition, as per the analyst, these infrastructures also connect countries to one another and require cooperation between them to build such gas pipelines.

As per Tracey German, this factor means that the benefits can be shared with neighbors that lack such resources.
