YEREVAN. – The flights to Armenia should be moved to more convenient hours, said Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, at Thursday’s Cabinet session.

In Abrahamyan’s words, numerous such flights are conducted late at night, and this causes inconvenience for the arriving passengers, including tourists.

“For example, the tourists don’t know what to do, how to spend the time so as not to book an extra day at the hotel. There are many other issues, too.

“Therefore, I propose the [Armenian] State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, the Ministry of Economy, and the [Armenian government-affiliated] General Department of Civil Aviation to scrutinize the passenger air transportation market in detail, with prices, destinations and conditions.

“Negotiations should be conducted with the airlines, to move the arrivals [to Armenia] from [late] night hours to morning hours,” added the PM.
