STEPANAKERT. - All regions of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) have vacancies for comprehensive school teachers, NKR Deputy Minister of Education and Science Michael Hambartsumyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

In his words, the number of vacancies has not changed as compared to last year. “We need natural science teachers. And I think this issue will be fully resolved in the coming five years. There are also regions with excessive staff on humanities. Foreign language specialists are also in excess, but only in urban residencies,” Hambartsumyan said.

To solve the staff problem, NKR Education and Science Ministry also sends students to study in order to recruit them as teachers later. According to the Deputy Minister, the salary of such teachers is 50% more than stipulated. In case of work in rural areas, they also get about 20,000 AMD payment for their apartment. “Vacancies also interest those from Armenia, but these are mainly pensioner teachers.” Hambartsumyan said.
