General Jurisdiction Court of Armenia’s Ararat and Vayots Dzor districts is still hearing the scandalous case on the hunt of red-listed animals in Armenia’s Khosrov Forest State Reserve.

Attesting witness Karo Hovhannisayn gave evidence at the hearing today. Hovhannisyan insisted he had signed the search protocol without reading it. Responding to the question on what items were discovered in his presence, Hovhannisyan said he had seen two rifles on the table.

Another attesting witness Gegham Petrosyan was absent from the hearing, since his address, mentioned in the protocol, didn’t correspond to reality. Judge Levon Arazyan extended the hearing to September so that Gegham Petrosyan is found and invited to the court.

The First Instance Court has been hearing the case on the hunt in Khosrov Forest for over a year. According to the indictment, in the period from January 2011 to September 2012, the policeman Norik Sargsyan, who worked for a water-supply protection service, and his wife Marine Grigoryan, periodically entered Khosrov Forest State Reserve, where they hunted red-listed wild animals.
