Armenia’s Ambassador to Italy, Sargis Ghazaryan, on Wednesday participated in a memorial ceremony to the victims of Sant’Anna di Stazzema—an Italian village which was the site of a notorious Nazi crime against humanity—, and the Armenian Genocide. 

Sant’Anna di Stazzema Mayor Maurizio Verona, in his remarks, especially  pointed out that this year’s commemoration is also dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. 

Ambassador Ghazaryan, for his part, underscored the prevention of  genocides and crimes against humanity, and the need for preserving the respective recollection. 

Ghazaryan added that Armenia and Italy join efforts also as part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) multinational mission, to ensure stability and security in the Middle East.
