YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan visited Ajara Agroservice Centre during his working visit to Georgia.

The Minister was accompanied by his Georgian counterpart Otar Danelia and Ajara Autonomous Republic Minister Zaur Putkaradze.

The Ministers toured the center and got acquainted with the technical capabilities and the services. The center in Batumi was founded with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme thanks to funding from the European Union. The main mission of the center is providing quality consulting services to farmers.

The two Ministers also visited the greenhouses growing strawberries, as well as an experimental vineyard located near the center. In addition, on the first day of his visit Sergo Karapetyan got acquainted with the Georgian experience in fish farming.

The day before the Minister together with the representatives of the Armenian community attended the ceremony of consecration of grapes in St. Etchmiadzin church in Tbilisi.
