YEREVAN. – Head of Armenian NGO offers to legalize prostitution in Armenia.
Ashot Atoyan, chairman of the international committee on human rights protection, believes the situation with prostitution in Armenia suggests that someone benefits from this business,
“Otherwise, they would not have had privileges,” he said without clarifying what he means by “privileges”.
Atoyan accused police, investigation committee and prosecutor’s office of “sponsoring prostitution”. He offers to protect the rights of sex workers.
“The government should control the situation. They have to undergo medical examination,” he added.
