A new Armenian-Georgian school designed for 1,000 schoolchildren will appear in capital city Tbilisi, reported the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

“Such a large school was not built in the last 20-30 years,” said Education and Science Minister Tamar Sanikidze, as she got familiarized—on location—with the respective construction work.

“We maximally strive to help [Georgia’s] ethnic minorities so that they are fully integrated into the education process,” added the minister, reported Sputnik Georgia news agency.

The new Armenian-Georgian school will meet modern standards, and it will be adapted for schoolchildren with disabilities.

The project cost is about 5.5 million Georgian laris (approx. US$2,369,690).

Construction has begun this year, and it should be completed next year.
