YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) will not convene a special session on September 7, and with respect to the constitutional reforms. 

Head of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia NA Faction, Vahram Baghdasaryan, told about the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Baghdasaryan added that the new draft Constitution will be debated at the Armenian parliament at the first four-day session of its forthcoming fall sitting, which will get underway on September 14.

Zhamanak daily had reported Wednesday that a special NA session will be convened on September 7.

Chapters 1 through 15 of the new draft Constitution of Armenia have been made public. Accordingly, the country will make a transition from a presidential to a parliamentary system of governance.

These constitutional amendments will be forwarded to the President in the coming days. And once he signs them, they will be debated at the National Assembly.
