YEREVAN. – Expanding services market of the Eurasian Economic Union may give a boost to Armenian companies, Ms. Karine Minasyan, one of the three ministers from Armenia at the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Speaking Thursday in Yerevan at the presentation on the prospects of a united service industries market in the Eurasian economic union, she pointed out that, according to several expert estimations, by 2020, industrial companies in Russia will outsource around 20% of services they use.

Another favorable development for the market is a gradual increase of machinery use in agriculture, which will call for repair and maintenance shops.

“This broadly means servicisation of the industry, if one were to coin a specific term. And this means not only growth, but also expansion of service industries, which is a good chance for Armenian businesses”, she told.

According to Armenian stats data, as of the end of the 1st half-year of 2015, service industries employ around 460 citizens, or about 41% of the employed population.
