The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, stated that there can be no talk of “fraternal nations” in time of war.
Poroshenko noted the aforesaid during his meeting with prominent civil activists of the country, reported the press service of the Ukrainian president.
At the talk, former Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Yuriy Shcherbak, stressed the need to dispel “Putin’s myths” that Ukrainians and Russians are the same nation and that Ukraine is under external control.
“You are absolutely right,” the Ukrainian president responded. “There are no fraternal nations at war. There is a united Ukrainian nation which is moving towards Europe, and there is a Russian nation which is in a deep crisis.”
