YEREVAN. – The Ministerial Conference of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) is a platform which enables to have closer bilateral relations.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, stated the aforesaid at his talk with Rudy Demotte, the Minister-President of the French Community of Belgium.
The 31st meeting of the OIF Ministerial Conference is underway in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.
The FM also appreciated the principled position of Demotte in the matter of Armenian Genocide recognition, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Head of the Government of the French Community of Belgium, for his part, expressed satisfaction with being in Armenia’s capital city and discussing the ways for the development of collaboration with Armenia. He also considered it symbolic that he is visiting Yerevan on the Armenian Genocide Centennial year.
At the ensuing talk, Edward Nalbandian and Rudy Demotte conferred on the avenues for promoting economic and cultural cooperation, and reflected on the establishment of collaboration in high technology, science, and education.
They also exchanged views on regional and international issues and the methods for their resolution.
In addition, FM Nalbandian briefed the Belgian guest on the ongoing efforts by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to achieve a peaceful settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
