YEREVAN. – Opening of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Armenia will contribute to Armenian-Czech friendship. 

The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, noted the aforesaid at his talk Thursday with the spiritual leader of the Czech Catholic Church and the Archbishop of Prague, Cardinal Dominik Duka. 

The presidential press office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the President welcomed the guest who, in his words, is one of the best friends of the Armenian people. Sargsyan warmly recalled his last meeting with Cardinal Duka, and noted with satisfaction that Armenian-Czech relations continue to develop with dynamism.

At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors underscored the cooperative climate in relations between the Armenian Apostolic and the Czech Catholic Churches. As per the Armenian President, Cardinal Duka plays an invaluable role in these relations.

Cardinal Dominik Duka, for his part, stated that the Czech people are well-informed about the crime that was committed against the Armenian people at the turn of the past century. He also expressed confidence that relations and collaboration between the two friendship nations, states, and churches shall also seek to achieve world peace and eradicate intolerance.
