YEREVAN. – The launch of the Ashgabat-Yerevan direct flights could be a major boost for the development of Armenian-Turkmen economic relations and expansion of tourism.

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia, Yervand Zakharyan, noted the above-said at his talk Wednesday with Vice-Chairman (Deputy PM) Sapardurdy Toyliev of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

Seventh regular session of the Armenian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was convened Tuesday and Wednesday in Ashgabat, the capital city of Turkmenistan.

Cooperation opportunities in several domains were discussed at the event, informed the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia.

Zakharyan, in his remarks at the session, stressed that there is great potential between the economies of Armenia and Turkmenistan.

It is expected to intensify cooperation also in a number of agricultural domains.
