French Armenian filmmaker Robert Guédiguian has shot several movies devoted to the tragedy of his people, wrote L’Independent daily of France.

“Don’t Tell Me the Boy Was Mad (French title: Une histoire de fou, 2014) seems to be an attempt to heal an old wound. The events begin in 1921 Germany, and end in the still Soviet Armenia.

“For the [Armenian] refugee children, Armenia exists solely in connection with the [Armenian] Genocide, and Guédiguian turns this paradox into the concept of the film. 

“Today, numerous countries have condemned Turkey [for perpetrating this genocide], albeit it continues to deny everything,” the article reads, in particular.
