YEREVAN. – The Republic of Armenia Ministry of Defense (RA MOD) has issued a statement reflecting on Thursday’s killing—by Azerbaijan—of two Armenian soldiers on the Nagorno-Karabakh (NK)-Azerbaijan Line of Contact.

“The RA Ministry of Defense strongly condemns yet another terrorist act by the Azerbaijani side.

“[Despite] realizing that this action will not go without consequences and the guilty will be punished, the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan exacerbates the situation yet again.

“Azerbaijan’s steps—aimed at destabilization of the situation on the Line of Contact—intensify day by day immediately after the end of electoral processes in this country and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’ visit the region, which proves once again the authorities’ of this state’s destructive approach toward the settlement of the NK conflict, disregard of the appeals by the mediation mission, and violation of the norms of international law,” the statement specifically reads.
