STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR, or Artsakh), Bako Sahakyan, on Friday signed decrees. 

Accordingly, Privates Mikayel Torosyan and Vahe Vanoyan of the NKR Defense Army have been posthumously awarded the Medal for Service in Battle, and in recognition of their bravery shown during the defense of Artsakh’s state borders.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned the aforementioned from the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.

Privates Vahe Vanoyan (born in 1995) and Mikayel Torosyan (born in 1996) had sustained fatal gunshot wounds from the shots fired by Azerbaijan, on Thursday at around 9pm.

They were fatally wounded at the military base of the protection area of an NKR Defense Army unit, which is stationed in a southerly direction.

An investigation is underway to find out the details of this incident.
