In the framework of the Armenian Genocide Commemoration events, opening ceremony of Armenian khachkar (cross-stone) commemorating the victims of the crime against humanity, took place in one of the parks in the Australian city of Willoughby.

The grand ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Willoughby, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, Bishop Haykazun Najarian and representatives of the local Armenian community.

The same day, an agreement on friendship and cooperation was signed between Yerevan’s Nor Nork district and the city of Willoughby. It’s the first time Yerevan Municipality has started cooperating with the Australian cities.
