YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting today with one of the founders of crystallography Professor Artem Oganov. Hundreds of laboratories use the computer program created by him.

The famous scientist is in Armenia upon the invitation of the leading body of the Young Scientists Support Program, implemented under the auspices of the president. Today he read a lecture in the Yerevan State University (YSU) on the newest methods of material projecting. The program USPEX, created by Artem Oganov and used by over 2500 scientists, is an algorithm for determining crystal structure.

The President welcomed the guest and underscored the importance of the mission with which he arrived in his homeland. Briefing on the results of his meetings with the students and colleagues, Oganov said that the young specialists are prepared and educated. The professor also noted that he is ready to contribute to the education of young specialists abroad in the framework of his capacities.
