President Vladimir Putin promised to punish those behind the recent Russian plane crash in Egypt.

Putin stated about the aforesaid at a consultation, during which director of the Russian Federal Security Service, Alexander Bortnikov, had informed that this air disaster was a result of a terrorist act.

The Russian president also noted that the airstrikes to the terrorists’ positions in Syria need to be intensified.

Vladimir Putin added that he will personally monitor these activities, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

An airplane, which was en route from Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt) to Saint Petersburg (Russia), crashed on October 31, in the Sinai Peninsula. All 217 passengers and seven crewmembers were killed in this catastrophe.
