Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is also Chairman of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Ministerial Council, on Thursday chaired—in the Serbian capital city of Belgrade—meeting of the FMs of the CSTO member countries.

The ministers discussed the process of executing the decisions reached by the Collective Security Council, and the avenues for coordinating the foreign policies of the CSTO countries, informed the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

The discussants also reflected on the present-day situation following the Turkish air force’s recent shooting down of a Russian Su-24 attack aircraft/interdictor on the Turkish-Syrian border, and which was taking part in the antiterrorism operations in Syria. In this context, FM Nalbandian noted that the downing of this plane is a serious blow to combining the efforts of the international community in combating terrorism, and to the process of a finding political settlement in Syria.
