The Federation of Armenian Organizations in the Netherlands (FAON) has filed a lawsuit against the Turkish rector of the Islamic University of Rotterdam (IUR), the Netherlands Live Journal reported.

As per FAON, several Kurdish and Turkish organizations and individuals also have filed separate lawsuits against IUR Rector Ahmet Akgündüz, who has made offensive and defamatory remarks that are inappropriate for a professor.

FAON’s lawsuit is filed against Akgündüz’s statements where he has made discriminatory and hate remarks against Armenians and other minorities.

In addition, he openly denies the Armenian Genocide, thereby violating the Dutch criminal code.

Ahmet Akgündüz is also accused of public defamation.
