YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Friday hosted Council members of the European Democrat Students (EDS), which is a pan-European student and youth political association, and the official student organization of the European People’s Party.

The EDS members are in capital city Yerevan to attend an assembly on new models of governance, informed the Public and Media Relations Department of the Office of the President.

Sargsyan expressed the hope that these youth will also get an opportunity to learn about Armenia and acquire new friends, and underscored the need to communicate with the youth.

“Interacting with the Armenian youth, you’ll become convinced that the liberal views of your organization, the mission of spreading democratic values are not alien to Armenians,” the President noted. “Ultimately, you’ll also see that the majority of Armenian society shares the values that you [share].”

The European students, for their part, asked Serzh Sargsyan to present his views on several matters.

The EDS youth added noted that such talks are important also in terms of having trusted friends in region, and in the person of Armenian youth.
