Germany, as the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Chairman-in-Office in 2016, has committed itself to supporting the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in their efforts to mediate a negotiated settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Ambassador James Warlick, the Minsk Group Co-Chair of the US, told the aforesaid to Trend news agency of Azerbaijan.
He pointed out that at the OSCE Ministerial Council held in Belgrade on December 3 and 4, the co-chairs had the opportunity to meet with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Edward Nalbandian and Elmar Mammadyarov, to finalize plans for a summit meeting of the two countries’ presidents.
“We believe that the time has come – after more than one year – for the presidents to meet face-to-face for a constructive discussion on the way forward,” Warlick added.
