YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan today sent a congratulatory message to the members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun over the 125th anniversary of the ARF.

The President  congratulated the party on the occasion, noting that from the moment of its conception, it has been a leading force in the Armenian political life.

“The Party’s role in the re-establishment of the Armenian statehood is uncontestable. Names of Aram Manukian and his brothers in arms are cherished by the entire Armenian nation. Their heroism was written in gold on the pages of the Armenian history. In 1921, the march of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation in the Motherland, in Armenia was terminated. Nonetheless it didn’t lessen the devotion of the freedom loving sons and daughters, who rallied around the Party, for their Motherland. On the contrary, the ARF consolidated its position in the Diaspora, stanchly took up the task of the preservation of the Armenian identity, and passed from generation to generation the vision of Independent Armenia.

It is most pleasing that nowadays the Armenian Revolutionary Federation continues to make the most serious efforts aimed at the preservation of the Armenian identity in Spyurk, defying the assimilation of our brothers and sisters.

With the first opportunity provided by the Third Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation reinstated itself in the Motherland. Despite certain difficulties, ups and downs, this traditional Party occupied its worthy and firm place in Armenia’s political life. With this regard, the ARF is a unique political force in our country. The oppositional status of the Party did not hold back the cooperation of Armenia’s leading political force, the Republican Party of Armenia and ARF in the process of reformation of the Constitution of the Republic. Moreover, through the discussions and compromise, we demonstrated an example of cooperation of different political forces which was called for the resolution of the pan-national issues. 


I once again congratulate our colleagues from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation on this momentous jubilee. Armenia is strong and powerful also thanks to your activities. I wish you new success and new achievements for the benefit of our national aspirations. I am confident that your potential and abilities will always be required and will find their proper use.” the message reads .
