STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR, or Artsakh), Bako Sahakyan, on Saturday signed a decree.

Accordingly, serviceman Karen Grigoryan of the NKR Defense Army has been posthumously awarded the Medal for Service in Battle, and in recognition of his bravery shown during the defense of Artsakh’s state border.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned the aforementioned from the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.

As reported earlier, Defense Army serviceman Karen Grigoryan, 20, was fatally wounded on Friday at around 8:40pm, at a military foothold of a Defense Army unit located in an easterly direction, and as a result of sniper fire by Azerbaijan.

An investigation is underway to find out the details of this incident.
