YEREVAN. – The Military Investigation General Department of Armenia has opened a criminal case into Azerbaijan’s killing of Armenian contract soldier, Private Karen Grigoryan.   

The Investigative Committee informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the criminal case has been launched on charges of murder based on national, racial or religious hatred, or religious fanaticism.

An investigation is underway.

As reported earlier, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army serviceman Karen Grigoryan, 20, was fatally wounded on Friday at around 8:40pm, at a military foothold of a Defense Army unit located in an easterly direction, and as a result of sniper fire by Azerbaijan.
