YEREVAN. – According to the Armenian government sources of Hraparak daily, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will no longer visit Armenia in the current year, the daily reported.

“It was previously announced that, at the invitation of [Armenian PM] Hovik Abrahamyan, the next meeting of the PMs of the EEU [i.e. the Eurasian Economic Union] will take place [in December] in [capital city] Yerevan, [and it was to be] chaired by Medvedev.

“Our government sources explained this [cancelation of visit] by the Russia-Turkey tension.

“Accordingly, the [related economic] sanctions have left no time for Medvedev to convene the EEU meeting according to his schedule, and [therefore] it is moved to next year.

“[But] they [i.e. the daily’s Armenian government sources] did not know [exactly] when it will take place,” Hraparak wrote.
