YEREVAN. – Newly appointed Ambassador of South Korea Park Ro-byug, whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow, on Tuesday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan of Armenia.
First, Sargsyan congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in carrying out his diplomatic mission in Armenia. The President also expressed the hope that the ambassador will make utmost use of his experience and knowhow toward the further development of Armenian-South Korean relations.
Park Ro-byug, for his part, assured that he will exert maximum effort to make these relations grow deeper.
The interlocutors shared the view that Armenia’s accession into the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) opens up new horizons toward the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. In this connection, the South Korean diplomat informed that his country is looking into the opportunities in the Eurasian market, and the prospects for the development of economic collaboration with the EEU member countries.
The President, in turn, thanked the South Korean government for its technical assistance to Armenia’s development.
Serzh Sargsyan and Park Ro-byug also underscored Armenia-South Korea cooperation within international organizations.
The Armenian President and the South Korean ambassador also reflected on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process along the lines of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group.
