MP Mahinur Ozdemir, a Turkish member of the Humanist Democratic Centre (cdH) party in Belgium, has been expelled from the party, once and for all.
The cdH Ethics Committee adopted a decision on expelling Ozdemir—who refuses to recognize the Armenian Genocide—from the party, reported Agos Armenian bilingual weekly of Istanbul, Turkey.
To note, the Belgian Turkish MP had refused to sign under her party’s resolution on recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
She had also boycotted the initiative of observing a minute of silence on April 24 in the Belgian parliament, and in memory of victims of this genocide.
