US House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce’s and member Eliot Engel’s call to Ambassador James Warlick, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group Co-Chair of the US, still has not received a response.

Elizabeth Chouldjian, Communications Director of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), told about the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Royce, Engel, and other [US] Congress members propose the withdrawal of snipers from the [Karabakh-Azerbaijan] Line of Contact, the putting in place of mechanisms whereby it will be possible to find out the location where the shootings are coming from, as well as the increasing of the number of observers,” Chouldjian said. “More than a month has passed since the call of the Congress members, yet there is no change. In the meantime, Azerbaijan continues violating the ceasefire, and young [Armenian] people are dying as a result of shots fired by [Azerbaijani] snipers.”

Congressmen Royce and Engel had addressed a letter to Warlick regarding his conduct in the Karabakh peace process.

In January 2016, the US House Foreign Affairs Committee will convene a closed discussion devoted to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
