YEREVAN. - A consultation headed by Armenia’s PM Hovik Abrahamyan took place today. During the consultation, the National Program on Improvement of Armenia’s Demographic Situation in 2016-2018, as well as measures ensuring its implementation were discussed.
Specifically, Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan presented in detail the priorities and targets of the plan, as well as the events scheduled in its framework and expected results. For his part, Armenia’s Healthcare Minister Armen Muradyan referred to the programs aimed at the improvement of reproductive health, issues on rising the birth rate conditioned by health factors, indexes of maternal and infant mortality rate, as well as preventive measures taken in that direction.
During the consultation, the parties concerned exchanged ideas; different proposals on improving the demographic situation were made.
PM Abrahamyan attached importance to the discussions on the National Program on Improvement of Demographic Situation in 2016-2018, as well as its further approval.
