YEREVAN. – There are no price hikes in Armenia ahead of the New Year.

Director of the “Consumer Consulting Center” NGO, Karen Chilingaryan, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Tuesday.

“In all likelihood, there will be no price hikes in the end of December, too,” Chilingaryan added. “As a rule, meat products, [and] vegetables become more expensive [in the country in the lead-up to the New Year], but this year, the meat product market is regulated. There may be price hikes solely in the fruit market.”

Director of the “Consumers Association of Armenia” NGO, Armen Poghosyan, on the other hand, stated that there will be price hikes in Armenia by the year’s end.

“This year is relatively mild [in this sense],” Poghosyan said. “But there is [still] time, and the track-record shows that there will be price hikes.”
