Among the representatives of the world’s political elite, Russian President Vladimir Putting has the highest rating in Armenia, according to the results of the survey carried out by WIN/Gallup International.

79% of the respondents viewed Putin favorably. In fact, the Russian president was most of all supported by the ex-Soviet States, while Europe viewed him unfavorably. According to the survey results, the U.S. President Barack Obama is in the first place. 43% of the respondents voted against him in Armenia.

Armenians were also of favorable opinion about the French President Francois Hollande (51%) and German Chancellor Angela Merkel (15%).

The survey was held in 65 countries. According to its results, 59% of the respondents hold a favorable view of the U.S. President Barack Obama, 29% viewing him unfavorably. President Obama was perceived particularly well in South Asia (76%), in the EU countries (67%), Latin America (65%), Sub Saharan Africa (65%) and East Asia (65%).
