YEREVAN. – Officers at the Department of Fight against Smuggling and Double Customs Control of the Ministry of Finance of Armenia inspected, at a customs control zone, the cargo belonging to H. Kh., who had brought clothing from Turkey to Armenia through an intermediary organization.

The Ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that as a result of the inspection, 1.529 grams of gold jewelry, which were hidden from customs control, were found in the bags of clothing belonging to the aforesaid person. 

The other major findings in the current year related to the smuggling of drugs.

Accordingly, the Department officers inspected, with the use of detection dogs, a parcel to be sent abroad from a post office, and they discovered more than 3 kilograms of opium that was hidden inside.

And thanks to teamwork with the National Security Service officers, an attempt to smuggle abroad 1.5 kilograms of opium was prevented.
