YEREVAN. - The achievements of 2015 include the events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, accession to the EEU, the constitutional amendments and the cooperation with different parties. Spokesman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Vice President of the Armenian Parliament, Eduard Sharmazanov, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am after the RPA Supreme Body session, summing up the political events of this year.

“It was the year of the 100th anniversary of the Genocide, which was distinguished by the Pan-Armenian Declaration, followed by the event on April 24.  We were able to represent ourselves to the modern society in a correct manner. But we don’t give up on this by the 100th anniversary and continue our struggle.  Our accession to the EEU and talks with the EU are also important. Another achievement is the constitutional amendments; we already have an amended Constitution. The cooperation with different parties, as well as insurance of the freedom of press and pluralism is also very important,” Sharmazanov said.

According to him, the main loss of the year is the situation on the border, the lives of the servicemen and civilians.

“We should realize that we live in a region where the security is the most important thing. We have neighbors, who are trying to escalate the situation, and we have no other choice but to protect our safety,” the Spokesman said.
