The situation along the Line of Contact between the Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces has truly dramatically aggravated recently, and this, first and foremost, is a result of Azerbaijan’s policy toward destabilizing the situation.
The Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karen Mirzoyan, noted the above-said at a press conference on Friday.
“Such conduct by Azerbaijan is not only an outright contempt of the calls by the Armenian sides [i.e. Armenia and NKR], the [OSCE Minsk Group] mediators and the entire international community aimed at stabilizing the situation and reducing the tension, but also a blatant attempt at abrogating the ceasefire agreement of 1994,” Mirzoyan stressed. “Under the circumstances, the actions by the NKR Defense Army are geared toward obligating Azerbaijan to respect the ceasefire agreement and the commitments it has assumed within its framework.”
