STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR, or Artsakh), Bako Sahakyan, on Saturday visited the Martakert region, and attended the official opening of the Kashen enrichment plant.

Sahakyan noted that the operation of this plant will create new jobs, and enable the effective usage of the country’s natural resources by applying modern technologies to ensure the socioeconomic development of Artsakh, reported the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.

Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan—who is Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church—, NKR National Assembly President Ashot Ghulyan, Prime Minister Arayik Haroutyunyan, and several other officials also were on hand at the event.
