YEREVAN. - There has not and cannot be a state of war in the near future. Armenia’s Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan told the aforementioned to Radio Libverty, commenting on his own statement made earlier, in which he said that if Azerbaijan doesn’t understand the language of talks, there is also another language for explanation.

“This language is used now as well: these are the punitive actions. In many cases they are qualified as a state of war. This is no longer an issue of observing the ceasefire, since we face repeated processes. There has not and cannot be a state of war in the near future: Azerbaijan is merely trying to capitalize on the emerged international situation and create a climate to resolve the tasks put in front of it,” Sahakyan said.  

He also noted that the meetings between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are very important, regardless of their results.

Sahakyan also touched on the sharp speech of President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan delivered during the recent CSTO Security Council session, in which he  reproached the CSTO partner-states for failing to react to the problems of the republic. Referring to this occasion, the Armenian Parliament Speaker said: “The question was put more sharply this time, and there were no objections.”

He also noted that the member-states of the organization are led by their interests.
