YEREVAN – The resolution on Armenian Genocide recognition will be debated and voted on at the Bundestag—the lower house of the German parliament—on Thursday, reported 168 Zham newspaper.

“There is a high probability that it could pass this time.

“Naturally, [people] in Armenia are following this event [that is] expected in the Bundestag.

“One can almost say with certainty that if the Bundestag adopts this resolution, Armenia’s political circles (…) will perform odes addressed to Germany. 

“[But] if for some reason the opposite happens, the Bundestag does not adopt this resolution, the same circles (…) will pin Germany to the pillar of disrespect.

“In the meantime, by and large, there is nothing but emotions at the basis of Armenia’s foreign policy.

“Countries and international organizations use the Armenian Genocide recognition issue, just like any other key issue, solely and exclusively based on their [own] interests.

“As for specifically today’s decision by the Bundestag, whatever it may be, [we] should not be encouraged or offended, but accept it as a step in the interests of this country, and run a policy, as a result of which the interests of the greatest possible number of countries in the world meet the interest of Armenia,” wrote 168 Zham.
