Leader of the ruling Polish Law and Justice Party (PiS), Jarosław Kaczyński, thinks that the sovereignty of the country needs protection. He made the corresponding statement Saturday, speaking in the Polish capital.

According to Kaczyński, Poland has recently experienced “problems with sovereignty”. “We are dealing with interference in our domestic matters. Poland has become an object of pressure in the issue which directly concerns the lives of its citizens. We must defend our sovereignty,” the politician said.

Kaczyński stressed that the prosperity of the country, its economic development and approximation of the life standards with the rich Western countries depends on the possibility to make independent decisions. “Poland may enter unions and compromise, but it should maintain its sovereignty. We don’t want to be a work force for those who are richer than us,” he noted.
