YEREVAN. - The announcement of the Czech Republic President Miloš Zeman was a precise signal to Turkey, Armenia’s National Assembly (NA) Vice Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, who is also the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) spokesman, said after the RPA Supreme Body meeting Thursday.
At the reception held in his honor, the Czech Republic President said that the deniers of the Armenian Genocide are exactly those who deny the Holocaust. “They are merely cowards. They speak about human rights; for some people the most important right is to protest in front of the government,” Zeman said Wednesday.
Sharmazanov attached great importance to Zeman’s announcement. “Miloš Zeman’s statement is a precise signal to Erdoğan and his team,”he noted.
The NA Vice Speaker once again stressed that despite its faults, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is the only security system of Armenia, and the country cannot be part of an organization which Turkey is also a member of.
“Armenia’s enemies are Turkey with its pan-Turkish ideology and its younger brother Azerbaijan. There is no need to look for enemies in the north or elsewhere,” he added.
