The Human Rights Association of Turkey (IHD) welcomes the adoption of the resolution on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Bundestag and condemns Turkey's threats against the Turkish MPs in Germany.
According to the Turkish Etkin agency, the commitee against racism and discrimination of the Turkish Human Rights Association sent a letter to the German consulate, which condemns the racist and offensive statements addressed to Germany by the Turkish authorities, the Turkish media, and the nationalist segments of the Turkish society, after the German Parliament had adopted the recogition of the Armenian Genocide.
The letter states that the offensive expressions against the Turkish MPs in the German parliament shows the state of democracy in Turkey. The letter concludes that the Human Rights Association of Turkey welcomes the resolution adopted by the Bundestag and considers the Turkish offensive and racist statements against Germany as a hostility towrds democracy and human rights.
