YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received on Friday the members of Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The President welcomed the visit of the delegation members to Armenia, noting that it once again indicates the strong partnership ties between the ADB and Armenia.

Sargsyan highly appreciated the activity of ADB aimed at the development and ensurance of sustainable economic growth of Armenian infrastructures. Stressing that significant investments have been made in the Armenian economy as a result of over one decade of mutual economic cooperation with the bank, the President expressed hope that this collaboration will be continuous.

The interlocutors touched on the implementation of a number of large and future cooperation programs funded by the ADB, considering the priorities of Armenian economy.  

The President assured that the reforms carried out in Armenia and the steps aimed at the improvement of business environment will be continuous.

The representatives of the ADB Board of Directors highly appreciated the reasonable macroeconomic policy run by Armenia in the conditions of the negative impacts penetrating from the outside world, as well a the corresponding indexes recorded. They stressed that the bank will continue the agenda support and their mission to contribute to the country’s economic development.

At the meeting, the members of ADB Board of Directors presented their positions and assessments on the current and previous projects implemented between the bank and Armenia in the framework of the 2014-2018 partnership strategy.
