The Karabakh conflict settlement is the matter of the OSCE Minsk Group, Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE), Thorbjørn Jagland, stated at PACE’s session Monday.

Responding to the question of an Azerbaijani MP, Jagland recalled that the Council of Europe doesn’t play an immediate role in the conflict settlement.

“As I have said again and again, this is a matter for the OSCE’s Minsk Group. It does not want any interference from the outside, and we must respect that. If we are asked to contribute to the Minsk process, we will of course do so, but so long as they do not want us to do so, I see no point in the Council of Europe making problems for the process,” Jagland said.
