At least 181 people were killed or were considered missing during severe floods after a week of heavy downpours in the central and eastern China, Associated Press reported.
Late on Wednesday China Meteorological Administration said the city of Wuhan, which has 8 million residents and sits on the Yangtze River, had a record weekly rainfall of 57.4 centimeters.
Wuhan officials and state mass media reported that 14 people were killed and one was missing. Nearly 170,000 residents have been relocated, and more than 80,000 have been placed in shelters.
