One of the heads of the British bank HSBC Mark Johnson was arrested at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The company's global head of foreign exchange trading is suspected of manipulations in the interbank foreign exchange market. As BBC reported, Johnson has to stand trial in Brooklyn. The HSBC bank has not given comments in connection with arrest of the top manager yet.
In 2014 HSBC along with four larger world banks was involved in the scandal connected with attempts of manipulations in the interbank foreign exchange market of Forex. It was succeeded to settle scandal only after banks agreed to pay to the British and American financial regulators in total more than $3 billion in penalties.
