More than 1000 people have taken part in the representative survey conducted from August 1 to August 3 among adult citizens of Germany…

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is losing popularity. This is confirmed by the data of Deutschland Trend survey of ARD Germany's regional public-service broadcasters.

According to DW, only less than a half of respondents – 47% currently are satisfied with Merkel's work – 12% less than in July. At the same time, her partner in the block of CDU/CSU Bavarian PM Horst Seehofer received more recognition of voters in the last poll than during previous ones. Poll participants’ 44% are satisfied with his activity which is 11% more after the results of the July survey.

The main reason of discontent among the Germans are Merkel’s policy on refugees (65%). This indicator dropped by 7% in comparison with April and reached record-breaking low level since last October when this question appeared in the Deutschland Trend research. Only 34 % of participants of current poll are satisfied with the migration policy of German Chancellor, which is 8% lower than April's results.
