The U.S. former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor Edward Snowden’s lawyer Anatoly Kucherena denied information that he allegedly died in Russia.
“Again, we are seeing certain speculations about Edward Snowden. Of course, there probably are people interested in speculating on this matter who have been doing this for the last several years. I can authoritatively say that he is alive and well, he is living in Russia and is busy with his favourite work,” Kucherena said.
As Express reported, Snowden made two tweets on August 5:
“Did you work with me? Have we talked since 2013?
“Please recontact me securely.
“It’s time.”
The second one carried 64 characters of code. Both messages were deleted. In addition, Snowden has not been active on Twitter since August 5. Internet users rapidly began to discuss the messages published by Snowden, some even suggested that he could be captured or killed, Mirror reported.
"The appearance of certain codes in his Twitter does not mean that he is in danger of some sort. This is an attribute of his work and there is nothing bad about it", Kucherena assured.
