YEREVAN. - Charges were brought against Sasna Tsrer armed group member Sedrak Nazaryan on Friday.

“Sedrak Nazaryan announced that the charges aren’t clear for him. He refused to testify and answer questions, since he was confined for twelve days and had no connection with the outer world. Besides he hasn’t so far been recognized as an aggrieved party and is illegally prosecuted,” his attorney Lusine Sahakyan told Armenian News - NEWS.am.

In her words, Sahakyan is now being taken to the Court of Generla Jurisdiction of Yerevan’s Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun districts to take part in the hearing, which will discuss the motion of the preliminary investigation body to choose arrest as a preventive measure against him.

Sedrak Nazaryan has been charged under Articles 218.3 (1) (hostage-taking) and 235.3 (Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices) and 219.3 (Occupation of buildings, facilities, means of transportation or communication.)
